Cataract

Similar to cataracts in humans, the equine cataract is the opacification of the lens. A cataract in a horse’s eye can lead to blurred and decreased vision or can ultimately render a horse blind. Cataracts are most commonly seen in the older horse and can be the result of certain types of chronic eye inflammation.
